| Jewel Ida Kelton Cooper was born in Ridge, Alabama on November 2, 1902. Jewel married Ottis Lee Cooper in 1951 and settled in Los Angeles. For several years she was art chairman of the North Hollywood Women’s Club and secretary of the Valley Art Guild. She had a solo exhibition in 1961 at Security First National Bank in Studio City. A member of the Palm Springs Desert Art Center, she painted many desert landscapes. She died in Sun City, California on October 18, 1992.
