| Orra E. Monnette was born in Crawford County, OH on April 12, 1873. Monnette graduated from Ohio Western University in 1891. He moved to Los Angeles in 1907 and was then active as a bookplate designer. After 1916 he was a vice president at the Bank of America. He died in Los Angeles on Feb. 23, 1936.
