Known for monumental public sculpture and for philosophical exploration of the relationship between sculpture, architecture and human beings,
he was trained at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in physics and architecture, and then transferred after four years to Yale University where he has spent most of his professional life.
His teacher and mentor at Yale was Erwin Hauer, a German Expressionist from whom he learned figurative sculpture. He works in both stone and metal and (showing 500 of 1066 characters). |
