Edward Widmayer (1923 – 2010)
Born in New York City, Widmayer exhibited an early talent for painting and copied religious paintings at the age of 13 while a student at parochial school. Upon graduation, he attended the Pratt Institute. At one time he was the chauffeur for Peggy Guggenheim and became close to the early, inner scene of the NYC Abstract Art scene.
Widmayer enlisted in the Military where he served during WWII. He returned to Pratt after t (showing 500 of 909 characters). |
