This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| Labelled a conceptualist usually involving landscape subjects, he was born in Argentina to immigrant Russian Jews. He took a degree in architecture and then taught painting at an art school for several years. Political oppression led him in 1972 to move to Israel where he lived and taught for twenty years while working as a professor at Bezalel Academy of Art in Jerusalem. After that, he taught in Philadelphia at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
He exhibited extensively in Europe, especially Germany before moving to the United States. |
