Biography from Ran Gallery:
| J. E. Smith graduated from The Ohio State University with an art degree in 1971. Joe worked for many years in the family lumber business while painting evenings and weekends. His earlier work was done with acrylics and included numerous still life studies; some of which were reproduced and sold nationally.
Most recently Joe has been working with oils and doing rural landscapes from the area neighboring his studio in southern Ohio. He is currently represented by The Miller Gallery in Cincinnati, Ohio.
