| Eunice R. Uebele was born in Tomah, WI on Feb. 15, 1897. Uebele earned her B.A. degree at the University of Wisconsin and M.A. degree at Columbia Teachers College.
By the late 1920s she had moved to California where she further studied at Santa Barbara State Teachers College and University of Southern California. During the 1930s she taught art at Bakersfield High School and College until retiring to marry Elmer Karpe.
She lived in Bakersfield until her death on July 5, 1977.
