A noted wildlife artist, he had a career as a dentist for many years, having put himself through the University of Virginia by building boats. He later taught school and served in the Navy. At age 30, he enrolled in dental school and paid his tuition by selling ceramic and porcelain sculptures and then gradually switched to bronzes.
When his son Bill became a dentist, he turned the practice over to him and became a full-time sculptor, and now he and another son, David, work together as a (showing 500 of 1065 characters). |
