Painter, muralist, lithographer. Born on June 8, 1905 in Oakland, CA. Clements studied art for five years with Kenneth Hayes Miller and Boardman Robinson in New York. In 1930 she settled in Los Angeles where she taught at Chouinard and Stickney Schools. While there, she was instrumental in the promotion of Post-Surrealist ideology.
During the Depression she was active on the Federal Art Project. After her marriage to Thayer Waldo in 1938, she soon abandoned painting to pursue a caree (showing 500 of 1068 characters). |
