This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| | A former circus performer and boxer, Pat Collins became a student at the Art Students League in New York City and also participated in the WPA project. He served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II and after that became a painter of genre work. One piece, "V-J Day," painted in 1951 was a jarring depiction of a victory parade that was tragic in tone. |
