| From Des Moines, Iowa, Lillyan Jacobs was a regionalist painter who specialized in figurative work. She studied at Drake University with Florence Sprague and at the Stone City Art Colony with Grant Wood. In 1936, she was at the Art Institute of Chicago.
She exhibited at the Iowa Artist Salon from 1932 to 1939 and the World's Fair in New York from 1939 and was a W.P.A. artist, seriving as Art Director for the State Recreation Division. Her work is in the collections of Iowa State College and the Hotel Franklin in Des Moines.
