This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Alice Small Pardon was born on February 26, 1904 in Owensboro, Kentucky to Philip Victor Pardon and Minerva (Coots) Pardon. She developed an early interest in art and painting and became quite accomplished even in high school. After high school, she studied art in the Mississippi Woman's College in Hattiesburg. She was tall at 5 feet 9 inches and slender with dark brown hair, blue eyes and very beautiful.

On September 18,1926 she married Marion E. Bunch, Jr. in Louisville, Kentucky and moved to St. Louis, Missouri where her husband was an instructor in the department of psychology which he ultimately chaired. While in St. Louis, she further studied art at the St.Louis School of Fine Art, the Chicago Art Institute and in Germany with Joseph Keller-Kuhne.

She became quite prominent locally and joined the Group of Fifteen, the top 15 artists in St. Louis, and regularly exhibited her landscapes, still lifes and portraits in art shows locally and nationally during the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s. She temporarily stopped her art work in the 1940s for a number of years and then resumed with nonobjective paintings, lithographs, and mosaics.

She and her husband moved from St. Louis to St. Petersburg, Florida in 1974 where she died on December 4, 1992.
