A resident of New Bedford, Massachusetts from 1870 to 1923, Walton Ricketson was a noted sculptor of portrait busts of prominent people including Louisa Mae Alcott, Henry Thoreau, and Ralph Waldo Emerson.
With Herbert Bryant he was co-founder of the New Bedford Art Club.
