This biography from the Archives of AskART:

Born in Gloucester, Massachusetts, Alexander Tupper remained in that area where he was a writer and had a studio first in East Gloucester and later in Gloucester behind the North Shore Arts Association on Arnold's Wharf.

He was a member of the National Arts Club, the North Shore Arts Association, and the Gloucester Society of Artists.

He died about 1950.
