Frederick D. Jones, Jr. (1914 - 2004)
He was born in 1914 in Georgetown, South Carolina. Jones’ early art education took place in Atlanta, Georgia, where he studied at Morehouse College, Spellman College and Clark Atlanta University (Williams, 1988: Treadway Toomey Galleries, 2001).
An important Black, African-American Artist/painter, he lived and worked in Chicago. Fred Jones did numerous paintings and drawings of jazz figures, including Louie Armstrong, Lionel (showing 500 of 1882 characters). |
