This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| A Californian who moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico for ten years, Sonya Fairbanks now lives near where she grew up in Santa Barbara. She paints super-real fruit and vegetable still lifes in pastels, a medium she began using when she was commissioned to create 22 paintings for a restaurant.
Her goal is to create work that has meditative qualities, that suggests quiet and order.
