|  An Iowa painter of portraits and still lifes and co-author of the book, "Iowa Artists of the First Hundred Years", Louise Orwig studied at the Cumming School of Art and then at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art. She exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy, the Iowa Artists Club, the Des Moines Women's Club, and the American Federation of Arts. She was a librarian at the Des Moines Public Library.
