Richard McDaniel was born in 1948 in Berkeley,
California. He received his B.A. in sculpture from California
State University at San Diego, and his M.F.A. in painting from
University of Notre Dame. McDaniel also studied painting at the
Art Students League of New York,
Richard McDaniel has taught
drawing, painting, and pastel at Woodstock School of Art in New York
and at the Pacific Academy of Fine Arts in California. He also
was an instructor at Connecticut State University and conducts painting
workshops in many areas.
McDaniel's works are held in many major collections and he is listed in Who's Who in American Art. He is also the author of four books, including The Drawing Book and Landscape.
