| From St. Louis, Gordon Goetemann settled in Gloucester, Massachusetts, where he and his artist wife Judith have studios and his and hers galleries and a home on Rocky Neck, the birth place of Judith.
Having studied at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana and then going to graduate school in Iowa. He married his wife Judith, also an artist, and then served as professor of art and art history at the College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota.
He works with oil on paper and mixed media and prefers depicting the rocky land by the water.
