|  Kristin Calabrese's large format paintings are based on interiors of rooms she has actually seen and/or lived in. The rooms are usually empty, and her purpose is to convey a sense of human drama, as though something had just happened. These messages can be intuited from a door slightly open, an object just dropped, etc.
The artist received a BFA in painting from the San Francisco Art Institute, participated in the New York Studio Program in l998 and received her MFA in painting and drawing from UCLA in l999. The Saatchi Collection, London has acquired four large oil paintings.
