| | Born in New Jersey on May 22, 1910. Sackas studied at the Chouinard Art School in Los Angeles, Corcoran Gallery of Art, and California School of Fine Arts. By the late 1930s he was living in San Francisco. During World War Two he was head of the arts and crafts department for the Army and painted several portraits of the generals. He died in Copperas Cove, Texas on January 14, 2004.
