Mary Barbara Poull (1878-1958)
Born in Port Washington, Wisconsin on September 12, 1878, she received her art education at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago; plus later study with Charles W. Hawthorne, J. C. Johansen, and George Oberteuffer. She also studied in Belgium with the artist Henry Luyten in 1907 and 1908. He included her and a number of her classmates in a large composition titled Sonata. That work is in the Stedelijk (showing 500 of 1938 characters). |
