Simms Taback lives in the Catskill Mountains in upstate New York. He taught illustration and design at the School for Visual Arts and Syracuse University. He is a past president of the Illustrators' Guild and president of the Graphic Arts Guild. He was awarded the Guild's Lifetime Achievement Award in 1998. Cooper Union awarded him the Augustus St. Gaudens Medal for professional achievement in 2001.
Simms Taback won the Caldecott Medal in 2000 for the illustrations in his book "Joseph had (showing 500 of 745 characters). |
