Californian Ellen Sprague found great influence for her art from her childhood experiences of living in an adobe house near Chimayo, New Mexico for three years while her father, a civil engineer, worked on a nearby construction project.
She earned a degree in fine arts from Colorado College but put a painting career on hold while she raised her family. Later Sprague attended workshops by Sergei Bongart and was even awarded scholarships by the artist. She also studied with Albert Handell w (showing 500 of 965 characters). |
