| Manuel Joseph Silva studied at the Mark Hopkins Art Insitute in San Francisco in 1903-04 and was a resident of Los Angeles in 1931.

Biography from ArtSanDiego:
| Manuel da Silva lived and painted in San Francisco, California during the mid to latter part of the 20th Century. He specialized is painting impressionist manner landscapes, floral and still life works.
In the 1960's he painted out of his studio on Kearny Street in San Francisco. Little else is known about this artist at this time.
