| | Born in Rockford, IL on Nov. 21, 1874. Mabel first studied painting with her mother, Mary, and later at the AIC. On an extended trip abroad she further studied in Munich. After her marriage she was inactive as an artist for many years while raising a family, but later resumed painting. By 1932 she had settled in San Diego, CA where she was a pupil of Alfred Mitchell and Martha Jones. She died in Harbor Springs, MI on Aug. 24, 1948.
