J. C. Pace, III was born in Fort Worth, Texas in 1977. Pace grew up with a great love for being in a natural landscape of Texas and Wyoming. He spent his summers working on a cattle ranch in southern Wyoming, living in a bunkhouse, learning day-to-day ranch operations and working with the cattle. During this time he developed an ever-increasing love for the nature around him and an interest in history.
