|  Badgett attended Montana State University on a rodeo scholarship and graduated with a BFA. His work Laying the Trip is permanently installed at the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame. Badgett's work was featured in the June issue of America's Horse. He also appeared in the DVD Houlihan by J&S Productions. Houlihan is the fourth in a series of documentaries on cowboys and horsemanship.
Badgett was chosen as the featured artist for the Montana Stockgrowers Association's 125th Anniversary.
