| American Regionalist* artist Philip Gronemeyer and his wife Mary were prominent in the St. Louis, Missouri art community in the 1930s, 40s and 50s. Philip Gronemeyer was born in St. Louis. He studied painting at the St. Louis School of Fine Arts before moving to New York City. He taught art at the Brooklyn Boys High School while he continued his own studies at the Pratt Institute*. There he met his future wife Mary Hallet, who attended Pratt to study painting, leather tooling and woo (showing 500 of 1569 characters). |
