The following, submitted August 2005, is from Gary Stanley/ArtSanDiego:
Esther Rose was born in Two Harbors, Minnesota on April 1, 1901 with the maiden name of Holbeck. A painter, she is known for her impressionist renditions of California coastal images. At age 20 Esther Holbeck married Frank Rose, and in 1924 they settled in San Diego, California. While in San Diego they established the city's first Karmel Korn Shop.
Rose had been sketching and painting watercolors from an ea (showing 500 of 1554 characters). |
