| | Painter. Born in Bloomington, IL on July 23, 1878, Jackman studied at the AIC and in Paris. He was active in NYC as an illustrator and portraitist before settling in southern California in 1914. During the 1920s he had a studio-home in Laguna Beach. As well as portraits, he also painted Spanish California genre and often accompanied F. Grayson Sayre on sketching trips into the desert. He died in La Crescenta, CA on July 10, 1940. Exh: Southwest Museum (LA), 1921; Franklin Galleries (LA), 1922; Laguna Beach AA; Paris; Madrid; Chicago. In: Orange Co. (CA) Museum.
