| Frank Willard was born September 21, 1893 in Anna, Illinois. He attended Union Academy (where his drawings illustrated the Year Book "Reflector" of 1912. He went to the Illinois Academy of Fine Arts, Chicago, 1913 and was cartoonist with the Chicago-Herald from 1914-1918. Willard entered the U.S. Army 1917 and served with American Expeditionary Force in France, 1918-1919. He was with King-Features Syndicate 1919-1923 and joined Chicago-Tribune News Syndicate 1923.
