Gaylord Sangston TRUESDELL was born on January 1, 1850 in Waukegan, Illinois and died June 13, 1899, in New York City. Unmarried, he was a celebrated painter and artist who began as an engraver. He studied in the Pennsylvania Academy and, in 1885, went to France where he worked under Ernest Meissonier and Fernand Cormon. (showing 500 of 1332 characters). |
