Circa 1940, William Steene painted a number of portraits of Tryon, North Carolina including the president of Wofford College, and the founder of St. Luke's Hospital, Tryon, Dr. Jervey. The latter is exhibited in "Tryon Artists 1892-1942" May 18-June 23, 2001 in Tryon. |
