The following, sent by Dan Pomykala, is an excerpt from the book: "Content in a Garden" by Candace Wheeler, mother of the artist:
The main parlor on the east of the Woman's Building was decorated and furnished by the women of Cincinnati, under the direction of Miss Agnes Pitman, and is both exquisite and harmonious in tint. A frieze of conventionalized roses painted on canvas surrounds the room, and all the furnishings blend in the rosy colorings. On either side of this are smaller parlo (showing 500 of 2077 characters). |
