The work of sculptor Louis McClellan Potter, born on November 14, 1873, was exhibited posthumously at the Armory Show, in New York City.
Potter traveled to the southern coast of Alaska in 1905, sculpting the Tlingit Eskimos. His bronze figure group, "The Basket Weavers," 1905, stems from that journey, as does "Spirit of the Night." Both works were featured in an article in volume 32 of the 1907 issue of International Studio Magazine. A sculptor of medals as well, his bronze depicting Abd (showing 500 of 787 characters). |
