| The painter, printmaker, illustrator, craftsman, lecturer, writer, and teacher Will Smedley, son of Reverend Thomas Simpson Smedley and Belinda Hendricks Smedley, was born in Sandyville, Ohio on 10 November 1871. He graduated from the Case School of Applied Science in Cleveland, in 1896, with a degree in engineering. Smedley decided, however, to become a professional artist, and a year later, acquired a studio in Cleveland. By 1901, the year of his marriage to Adelaide Wilson, (showing 500 of 2512 characters). |
