Painter, muralist, gallery owner, and teacher, Kimon Nicolaides was born 1892 in Washington D.C. and died in 1938 in New York City. After his death, in 1941, the book, "The Natural Way to Draw" was published, presenting the lessons he taught while at the Art Students League in New York City for fifteen years. He also was an instructor at the School of Applied Design for Women.
Nicolaides stresses that direct experience - observation via the senses of the live model and nature- is the star (showing 500 of 977 characters). |
