Dana Bartlett is known for his landscapes and plein-air views of California and the Southwest. In 1922, he served as President of the California Art Club, and he was founder and the first president of the California Watercolor Society.
Born in Ionia, Michigan in 1882, Bartlett moved to New York City to study at the Art Students' League. There he studied under William Merritt Chase and Charles Warren Eaton.
For a short time Bartlett had a studio in Boston before moving to Portland, (showing 500 of 6383 characters). |
