| | Born in Covina, CA on July 26, 1891. Bemis studied art at the Los Angeles School of Art & Design and UC Berkeley. A veteran of WWI, he was a resident of San Francisco in 1922-28 and NYC in 1947. His last years were spent in Pasadena, CA. He died there at the Veterans Hospital on Sept. 9, 1951. | Source:
