| William Galbraith Crawford was born in Salt Lake City, UT on Jan. 21, 1894. Crawford studied at Brigham Young University, Art Students League in New York, School of Art and Design in Los Angeles, and the University of Mexico. From 1925 to 1944 he created posters for MGM movies. He then took over “Side Glances” comic panel from George Clark and continued to work on it for several decades. He also did cartoons for the New Yorker magazine. He signed his works with his middle name, “Galbraith.” He died in Los Angeles County on September 13, 1978.
