Biography from Crocker Art Museum Store:
Painter. Born in San Francisco, CA on Dec. 16, 1888 into a pioneer family. ma Perham's grandfather came with the Gold Rush, struck it rich, and established a dairy in San Francisco called the Boston Ranch.

After graduating from San Mateo High School (she later taught there), ma studied at the CCAC and the ASL in NYC. In the early 1920s she moved to Monterey where she studied with Armin Hansen and shared a studio in the Robert Louis Stevenson house with C. S. Price. While in New York in 1929, she wed Fred Story and remained there as a resident of Mamaroneck after further art study in Europe and with Hans Hofmann in Berkeley (1930). After the death of her husband, she returned to California in 1956 and settled in Santa Barbara where she remained until her death on July 31, 1979. Her works include landscapes, still lifes, portraits, and figure studies.
