Biography from Moynihan Fine Art:
| Born in Hungary in 1882, Arpad Kallos studied with E Ballo and J
Benczur in his youth and later settled in Cleveland, Ohio. He
held membership in both the Cleveland Society of Artists and the
Society of Hungarian artists. In 1916 and 1917 Kallos won prizes
in the Hungarian National Art Exhibition, and his work is included in
the permanent collection of the Andrassy Museum in Budapest, among
others.
Better known in Europe, Kallos has more market activity there than in the US, mostly dating from 1916 through the 1920's.
