Born in Clifton, Canada near Niagara Falls, Cecil Howard moved to Buffalo, New York at age two. At age 13, he started clay modeling at the Art Students League with James E. Fraser. Then he went to Paris for thirty-five years where he studied at the Academie Julian and his sculpture was shown at the Salon. He supported himself with fashion drawing and by teaching the Argentine tango.
During World War II, Howard drove a Red Cross truck carrying food and medicine to German prison camps. In (showing 500 of 1007 characters). |
