| Printmaker Mauricio Lasansky was born October 12, 1914 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the son of an engraver of bank notes who taught him to make his first zincographs, linocuts, and dry points. At the age of 19, he began to study painting, sculpture and printmaking at the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes there. Lasansky is one of the few modern artists to have worked almost exclusively in the graphic media. He is considered one of the "Fathers of 20th Century American Printmaking." He was also ade (showing 500 of 11586 characters). |
