Eleanor de Ghize (1896-1981)
She was born Eleanor May Jencks in New York in 1896, grew up in Baltimore, Maryland and graduated from Bryn Mawr. She studied at the Art Students League of New York summer school in Woodstock, NY in 1921. She studied under Charles Rosen. Eleanor May Jencks married Russian Count Alef de Ghize at her home in Baltimore, Maryland on March 28, 1925. The New York Times wedding announcement, March 29, 1925, described her as the "daughter of M (showing 500 of 4580 characters). |
