| Portrait painter, illustrator. Born in Detroit, Ml on Aug. 2, 1872. After graduating from the University of Michigan, Wagner worked as an illustrator for the Detroit Free Press for three years. He then was art an editor for Encyclopedia Britannica in London (1900-02) and worked as an illustrator in New York prior to studying in Paris at Academies Julian and Delecluse. During 1904 he painted portraits in Detroit. Upon moving to southern California in 1906, he lived in Santa Barbara until 1910 bef (showing 500 of 1090 characters). |
