| Edith Dimock came form a wealthy Hartford family and studied at the Art Students League with William Merritt Chase. After marrying painter, William Glackens in 1904, she devoted most of her energy to making him comfortable and raising their children.
She was a droll woman who painted droll watercolors, some of which are held in the Barnes Collection in Philadelphia. All eight of her works in the 1913 Armory Show were sold, including two bought by John Quinn, the pioneer collector of modern art. Several drawings were in the first Independents exhibition of 1910.
