Exhibiting in New York in 1915 desert landscapes as well as cityscapes and 'south of the border' scenes of Mexico, Rozella Butler put the show together at the Erlich Gallery from three years of travel by horseback in Arizona, New Mexico and Mexico with special emphasis on Arizona. Her only companion was her guide.
At the exhibit, her landscapes were not well received. One reviewer wrote that she had "produced a great many desert pictures with a strong, heavily loaded, m (showing 500 of 1299 characters). |
