This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| A specialist in floral subjects with an occasional landscape and figure study, she settled in Denver from Chicago where she had been a student of Worthington Whittredge.
In Denver, she belonged to the Palette Club, a woman's group that met weekly to critique each other's work. She was also a founder of the Le Brun Art Club, named after French portraitist Madame Vigee-Lebrun. The group frequently met at her studio and worked from a model and had discussions about art-related topics. The Club was controversial because its members painted nudes, which some persons regarded as obscene. |
